Tokyo, Japan, April 13, 2009 -- Approximately 100 bilingual business professionals came together on Saturday April 11 2009, to attend a seminar organized by CareerCross called “Get Your Job Now!” This event, held at Temple University Japan’s Azabu Campus, offered instructions and advice on finding and obtaining a position at a foreign-capitalized company in Japan.
The goal of “Get Your Job Now!” was to support bilingual job seekers in planning, finding and succeeding with the hiring process as it applies to working at a foreign-capitalized company in Japan and interviewing with a non-Japanese interviewer.
Concrete examples and instructions were given on what makes a good cover letter and resume, how to get your resume noticed on-line, the interview, answering difficult questions and qualities that foreign firms look for in a candidate.
Adding to the value of this seminar, Temple University introduced non-degree programs open to all candidates in their continuing education department designed for those needing additional skills.
Advice and encouragement was offered by the “Success Stories” speakers which were former candidates of our speakers that are now working at foreign companies and are pro-actively climbing the corporate ladder.
